Our Story
Toby Selby founded Selby Insurance & Financial in 2001. Toby grew up in Northeast Arkansas and graduated from Jonesboro High School in 1995. After graduating from Arkansas State University in 1999, he started his career as a financial advisor with a New York-based investment firm.
In 2001, Toby and his family suffered the catastrophic loss of his father. He quickly moved back to Jonesboro to help his mother during he and his family's loss. Toby learned first hand how necessary it is to have financial affairs in order before a death rather than trying to put the puzzle back together afterward. It was because the loss of his father that Toby founded Selby Insurance & Financial.
Toby personally knows how your life can change through loss and subsequently how much simpler it can be if you are financially prepared. In 2009, Selby Insurance & Financial added Property and Casualty allowing them to offer home, auto and commercial insurance plans to their customers.
Toby's father always tried to teach him, "all you have is your name." Toby strives to live by this creed in his personal life and professional career. At Selby Insurance & Financial we will always be honest, kind and forthright because our namesake is as important to us as your family is to you.
